Inspired by Nature to Give Back

Larry Escott

Larry Escott’s love of nature began early, influenced by his time in the Boy Scouts. Along with his troop, Larry camped, hiked and learned all about environmental preservation. His admiration for the natural world would only grow from then on. As an adult, he has traveled to more than thirty countries, appreciating the environment everywhere he goes.

“All of the experiences I’ve had in the world have made me realize that while I may not be around forever, I would like our ecosystem to be,” Larry says.

When planning for his estate and drafting his will, one of Larry’s priorities was allocating assets to organizations that play a major role in preserving the environment. For Larry, the Natural Resources Defense Council fit the bill perfectly.

“The NRDC is fighting for all of us. They bring together community leaders, the government and other environmental organizations to make sure our

ecosystems are preserved,” he says. “It’s our best chance to guarantee the future of our air, land and water.”

Larry says it was an easy choice to give NRDC a gift in his will, also known as a bequest. Prior to finalizing his bequest, Larry spent several years closely observing NRDC’s successes in fighting anti-environmental agendas. “When you’re leaving a legacy, you want your dollars to be well-spent,” he says.

“Seeing the positive results the NRDC produces makes me confident my contribution will be used well.”
